David Gahn, the president of Northern Lights Technology Development Company gave a very useful training which about leadership to all employees
on October 23rd, 2007. He said that “a good leadership is a process which includes vision, competencies and execution. It would have an impact
on moving the company forward. It should happen at all levels. Different people would have different role in the company”. Dave also said that
“ Firstly, staffs need to know who we are. We can be the individual contributor who have the skills and do some tasks or we can be the manager
who will make some plan and do some supervision and control. We also can be a leader in future.
Then, always reframe the future will have effect on company operation. We should know lately customers needs and wants and revolution old product
at the same time create new products. Staffs should work together to explore the idea. Besides, we need to understand the benefit and risks
of company moving forward.
Also, company will have opportunity to develop commitment which is to develop a critical mass of supporters who understand the strategy, and
will do what is necessary to succeed.
Furthermore, teach and learn are a procedure to develop leadership skills which needed to move forward.
After that, we will build community which is to create the infrastructure that enables people to work together effectively and accomplish expected
results.
Finally, we will deal with the balance Paradox which is to build in the mechanisms to manage the conflicts that naturally occur when reality
collides with expectations”.
After the speech, staffs felt that they really broaden their eyes and learn more knowledge. Finally, all the staffs give Dave appreciate applause.
