Software Development Manager
Responsibilities:
Expert technical knowledge in all SQL Server database concerns;
Develop professional working relationships and manage conflicts among customers, vendors, supervisors, peers and subordinates to achieve identified
business goals and objectives.
Build and maintain a highly motivated and exceptional performing team of 20-30 developers for multiple projects.
Ensure that software development standards, processes, and best practices are in place and that they are followed to support NLTD China as a
world class IT outsourcing organization within Taylor.
Provide architectural and technical guidance for software development practices.
Ensure that the team leads and project leads provide solid project estimates, sound project plans, and appropriate resource plans and task assignments.
Interview candidates for development groups, and approve resource plans and task assignments for the projects.
Ensure adequate training for team members on required skill sets.
Be accountable for supporting project teams to deliver the software product on-time, on-budget, and within predefined project scope.
Authorities:
Create Employee Development Plan and conduct performance review.
Participate in the decision making process for recruitment, probation, promotion, and termination for the team members.
Manage resource availability by approving employee vacation, sickness and overtime work requests.
Enforce Taylor company core values and NLTD company rules to create a supportive, disciplined, and professional working environment.
Make infrastructure decisions to meet software development needs.
Skills and Knowledge Needed:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including (but not limited to) reading, writing, listening, and speaking English fluently.
Excellent team building skills
Excellent software project management skills.
10+ years experience in developing and delivering commercial/enterprise software product.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science major or related fields required; MA.Sc degree preferred.
